Also, President Wright spoke with Jim Goodhart from MUCC, he will be attending a future meeting to discuss membership options with the MUCC and will probably attend the September General Membership meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Range Officer Pillsbury explained he has a source to buy sand for $3.50 a yard and would like at least 100 yards to raise the range berms. Motion made & passed for $350 to be spent on sand. After discussion, Director Jolley amended his motion to allow $500 to be spent for sand, motion passed.
Range Officer Pillsbury opened discussion with the group on a noise complaint he received from the Baldwin Township Supervisor. A Tawas Beach Club resident filed a complaint after hearing gun shot at 7:00 am. Director McKinny explained that range rules need to be posted along with the hours the range is open. Director Kindell suggested closing the range one half hour before sunset. A decision was made that the range hours will be from 9 am until 1/2 hour before sunset. Director McKinny and Range Officer Pillsbury will present a list of range rules and the new hours to the general membership at the September meeting.
Range Officer Pillsbury shared an e-mail he received from President Wright regarding dates to schedule an action pistol shoot with the Linwood Club. Discussion was had and September 22nd was set as the date. Large bore and benchrest will be on September 15th.
Range Officer Pillsbury shared a letter from Precision Shooting on benchrest shoots. They sent samples of forms use in their matches to show how the shooter did each time up and gave pointers on how they run their matches. Dick Wright from Precision Shooting will visit our club August 18.
Range Officer Pillsbury will have all members attending the September general membership meeting sign a release form that both club members and non-members must sign before using the range.
Director McKinny suggested we should establish a schedule with 3 hour blocks where members are here to monitor the range so it is open to the public and signing a release form would be required from anyone who hasn't already signed one.
Range Officer Pillsbury opened discussion on poly foam targets and suggested the club try them out during site-in days. The cost would be $200 plus S&H for six. Director McKinny will check his source to compare cost and said he would absorb half the cost if the club will invest in ten.  Motion made and passed to spend up to $300 for the purchase.
Range Officer Pillsbury showed the group materials for the clubs NRA safety library consisting of pamphlets, videos, and other material. He suggested the material be secured and any member interested in reviewing it would sign it out.  The material purchased also contains danger and warning signs to be posted on the range.
Meeting adjourned at 7:58  p.m.
Respectfully
John L. Hanley
