Although the Annual Meeting of Iosco Sportsmen's Club was duly noticed
and set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2003 at the Iosco Sportsmen's
Clubhouse, Baldwin Township, Michigan, it could not be called to order by
President C. David Wright because of a lack of quorum of directors.
As a result no business was conducted nor were directors elected as prescribed
in Iosco Sportsmen's Club by-laws. Pres. Wright said because of the situation
trustees with expiring terms would be continued to the September, 2003,
quarterly meeting of Iosco Sportsmen's Club when elections would be held to fill
expired terms.
Although no action could be taken, Pres. Wright updated those present regarding
ongoing effort to obtain property from the Michigan Department of Natural
Resources at the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base Small Arms Firing Range (SAFR).
He said while the DNR previously had indicated it would provide 50 acres to the
club at the SAFR location, new information from State Representative Dale
Sheltrown is that the DNR now only will gift 30 acres to the Iosco Sportsmen's
Club.
Club Member Neal Miller, at Pres. Wright's request, presented a series of maps
showing the SAFR and possible configurations for a 30-acre property transfer.
The maps have been posted on the Iosco Sportsmen's Club bulletin board for
member review.
This synopsis of activity at the Iosco Sportsmen's Club the evening of June 6,
2003 is respectfully submitted by Neal R. Miller
