Shooting Report: Took in $3,295.50 in income. Motion by Frase, second by Michalski. Approved.
Old business:
House rental: House has been rented for $400.00/ month on a month to month basis.
Shooting shed: Pillsbury needs help to complete. Sand needs to be moved to hardpack floors.
Fundraising: Sales have been slow for raffle tickets. They can be returned to McKinney.
Also Michalski reminded that they will have their last steak dinner on September 23.
Discussion regarding having another Trap class next year. The instructor requires at least nine students to sign up in advance. It may be hard to fill these slots.
Range Rules: The committee has updated the range rules and now needs money to update the signage. Discussion ensued regarding the range rule that Trap shooters must carry guns to the line in cases. Many feel that casing should not be required due to the close proximity of the parking lot to the Trap range. A motion was made and seconded to make an exception in our range rules for Trap shooters. Motion was passed to say that Trap shooters can carry their guns from their car to the shooting line without a case. Guns must be unloaded and broken. Shooting Range Grant:
Preliminary inquiries have been made to look at obtaining grants for range development.
WAFB: No news.
501C Nonprofit application: Neal Miller and Dave Wright have agreed to work on completing this application.
New Business:
Letter of Appreciation: Neal Miller proposed that we express our appreciation to Muriel Koepp by a letter or by naming a building after her. She has been a huge asset to our club in many ways, including purchasing new Trap equipment.
Punchcard: A motion was made and seconded to begin offering multiple use punch cards for Trap shooters. They could purchase a 10-punch card and then not have to pay each time they come to shoot. Cards would be issued and signed by our Treasurer and punched each time they shot. Motion passed.
Safe: Discussion regarding the theft of $50.00 twice during Trap season. A motion was made and seconded to purchase a safe to be cemented into the floor or wall to prevent theft. An offer was made to donate $100.00 towards the purchase and installation of safe. Vote taken and failed.
