Previous meetings’ Minutes: Motion to approve by Wright, second by Anderson.
Motion approved.
Financial Report: Balance at end of June is $21,224.46. Motion to approve by
Bertch, second by Frase. Motion approved.
Shoot report: Income of $2,097.50.
Old business:
1. WAFB- Bob Eppert, the township, attorney requested some slight legal changes
to paperwork. Our attorney, Tim Freel, and Eppert are doing some legal wrangling
and fine tuning. Paperwork will be delayed for another 3-4 weeks. We will have
to resign when completed.
2. Range improvements: We are still working on the shoot shed.
3. Grants: We should know by the end of July whether we were approved by NRA.
4. Rental house: Tenants have requested to build a brick barbecue grill. We need
sketch of location on property and of grill. Wright made motion that the
approval of president and one Director needed to approve plans. Second by
McKinney. Motion approved.
5. Shopper Ads: We have not heard positive response from public yet on if ads
are being seen or having impact. We will try putting them under “Sporting
Goods”. We will continue for one more month, then reassess.
6. Raffle tickets: No new tickets returned.
7. Fun shoot: We had some participants. We made $95.00.
New business:
1. Phil Babe from Walleyes of Iosco County thanked us for using the clubhouse at
no charge for an event. They generated a few new members.
2. Jan Cartwright presented estimates for a new trap. Requirements are that it
must include “wobble” and have the ability to shoot doubles. Two companies that
can fulfill these options are Beomat and GMV Superstar. Beomat unit costs
$8,195.00 + $350.00 shipping. It has a two year warranty and we can install it.
GMV Superstar unit costs $8,625.00 + $150.00 shipping. Jan recommended purchase
of Beomat. Discussed resale or trade-in of old trap. Board was supportive of
purchase. Motion made by Wright to make August meeting be a General Membership
meeting to vote on purchase. Second by McKinney. Motion approved.
3. Penny Wojahn from Women in the Outdoors- She is printing pamphlet regarding
the event she will be having on September 10. She needs help providing
instructors and sponsors. She is still looking for location for water events.
4. Trash pickup: Pillsbury made a motion that, in the 4 summer months, we have
the dumpster dumped twice monthly (instead of once monthly the rest of the
year). Second by Dombroski. Motion approved.
5. Newsletter: Penny Wojahn volunteered to write a newsletter for the club every
60 days. Any and all information you would like included should be emailed to
her.
6. Clarification of range rules: Pistol shooters are allowed to shoot, up to 50’
range, during Trap shooting.

Mail Bag: Chamber newsletter, Chamber golf outing announcement, Chamber
solicitation for Fireworks fund, NRA donation solicitation, Target advertisers,
and flyer regarding Sportsmen’s Expo to be held at Fairgrounds in Fall.
