I. Called to order by President Pillsbury at 7:09 p.m
II. Pledge of Allegiance and Conservation Pledge
III. Roll Call: Absent: Wojahn, McKinney, Dombroski, Dixon. Present: Pillsbury,
Carafelly, Bertch, McGrath, Marsh, Welton, Frase, Moir.
IV. Minutes: Correction to November 7 minutes on Section 4. The Club will not be
paying income tax on tree sales again this year. Motion to approve minutes as
amended by McGrath, second by Moir. Motion approved.
V. Financial Report: Reviewed. Beginning balance was $19,790.00. Ending balance
is $23,493. Report accepted as stated.
VI. Shoot report: Total income was $3,970.75. Motion to accept shoot report by
Carafelly, second by Gueldenzopf. Motion approved.
VII. Old Business:
A. Thanks to Dave Anderson for brush hogging around Tawas club.
B. Old pop machine has been sold. We have an old refrigerator for sale. Phil
Babe noted that he had an old snowblower that he traded into Lincoln Outdoor
Center. It may be available for sale for about $400.00. Motion by Moir to spend
up to $400.00 to purchase this snowblower. Second by Bertch. Motion approved.
C. Ads placed in all local papers may have been one reason for more shooters
during Sight-In Days, compared to previous years.
D. Vinyl garage has been donated by Harold Cole for use in the pistol range. It
needs to be assembled.
E. Gazebo donated by the Coast Guard has been disassembled by the Boy Scouts and
needs to be reassembled at Oscoda range in spring. Some of the wood was used for
other uses at Wurtsmith and will need to be replaced.
F. Benchrest Workshop or school is scheduled for June 21- 22. The fee has not
been set yet. France and Paul Bethingall are organizing and are trying to get
donations for prizes.
G. The heat at Wurtsmith is fixed.
H. An initiative is underway to have each Board member have a designated set of
responsibilities.
I. Snow removal at Tawas will be done by Keith Wojahn for the same price as last
year.
VIII. New Business
A. Wurtsmith furnace needs a thorough cleaning. Since it is fuel oil, not many
repairmen will work on it. A company in Saginaw was recommended.
B. Wurtsmith has been open from 10:00-2:00 on Saturday. Motion to close to the
public from now through mid-March by Bill Lichman, second by Greg Gueldenzopf.
Motion approved.
C. There will be an organization meeting to discuss pistol league on Wednesday,
December 12th at 1:00 p.m. People will be meeting at the Clubhouse on December
16th at 3:00 p.m. to setup clubhouse and practice.
D. Larry Kettinger has cancer. He would appreciate hearing from us. 4555 South

E. Mailbag: Solicitation from Michigan Sheriff’s Association- the National Child
Safety Council. Motion to donate $60.00 by Carafelly. Second by Saegesser.
Motion approved.
F. Volunteers will still be working on projects at Wurtsmith in the winter. The
parking lot and gate area will need to be plowed. We will offer gas money to
anyone willing to plow.
G. Chet is running a winter Trap League on Sundays at noon. It will start on
January 6th and run for 10 weeks.
H. The Boy Scouts are still looking for people to assist in a Law Enforcement
Explorers chapter. They need volunteers to assist and also an organization to
offer to sponsor a charter.
I. Property Insurance: Motion by Anderson to purchase insurance with a $1,000.00
deductible for $1,745.00 from Tawas Bay Agency.
J. Calendar: Tawas Clubhouse is rented on December 23 for a private Christmas
party. The Frozen Chosen is scheduled for Feb. 9. Winter Trap and Indoor pistol
leagues are starting soon.
K. New members: Eric Smith, sponsored by Randy McKinney. Motion to approve by
Moir, second by Spencer, Motion approved.
L. Dan Welton will be starting a black powder league in the spring with a
monthly shoot.
