c. Gregg Gueldenzopf – regarding advertising – Talked to people at Northeastern
Shopper - If commit for year for business card size ad - $2,050.00; if commit
for 26 weeks - $1,047.00 - Wording can be changed week to week. - Very large
distribution area – Bay City to Alpena. Iosco County News - Charge by the line –
column line - Costs us twice as much as Shopper Business Placemats - In most
restaurants, very effective, very cost effective - Calendar of events in center
of mat – no extra charge - Cost for 3 month’s ad – is $95.00 per square
Discussion to purchase a double square for summer and fall times. We need to
advertise Sight in Days. Recommend 2 week ad in Shopper. Gregg suggested putting
ad on radio thru John Carroll. He has “accumulated radio time” he is willing to
donate this time to the club to be used for Sight in Days. The time is valued at
$1,600.00. All he asks is there be recognition for his business – Tawas Bay Dry
Cleaners.
7. New Business:
a. Club needs new refrigerator.
b. State Police need
range between Oct 13th and 24th – they need exclusive use of range. They provide
six (6) $80.00 backers for their use.
c. Need to fill Vice President position –
Mike Smith volunteered – unanimous director approval.
d. Barbara Ann Thomas –
requested a better speaker phone at club house – Brad Saegessor has one to
donate.
e. There was a complaint about an unattended gun on the Tawas Range
recently – this needs to be avoided for multiple reasons!!
8. Open Discussion:
a. Tom Majewski – speaking for Rich Dixon – would like 20 yards of black dirt to
be spread by firing line of 100 and 300 yard ranges. Cost is $165.00 per 10
yards plus grass seed. Tom Majewski made motion to spend $325.00 on black dirt.
Mike Smith second the motion, motion passed.
b. Keith Moir – presented the mail
bag.
c. Tom Marsh – made inquiry as to when he will be paid for gas tank form
turned in on 8th of Sep. Tom Marsh paid this night. d. Art Troy – discussed the
re-imbursement “issues” questioned why Dan Welton hasn’t been paid yet – paying
him $568.95.
e. Gregg Gueldenzopf – his group is also tired of picking up their
brass from sand. Suggested putting down something called “stone crete” – 6” base
would be ideal, 4” would be adequate – 10 yards would cost $240.00, 10 yards
would cover about 700 sq ft. Would like to put it down from berm back about half
way to 25 yard line on both ranges. Discussion – may have problem with erosion
of sand on top of this stuff. Do only one range to start. Gregg will get
pertinent numbers and get back with us.
f. Revisiting the club hosting a CPL
class. Randy McKinney would be the instructor. Could be another way to raise
money for club and increase number of new members. Discussion – Want to know
about club liability. Want to know about scheduling of it. Thinking the class
would be held at Wurtsmith. Need to have a written lease agreement. Keith Moir
would be willing to write the lease for club at no charge. The cost would be
$100.00 per day plus $5.00 per student to Randy. Gregg will report back.
