Board Meeting
February 3, 2010

1. The meeting was called to order at 7:06 p.m.

2. ROLL CALL
Present: Smith, Moir, Bryant, Troy, Eugene Kindall, Larry Kindell, Marsh
and Gueldonzopf. Absent: Wojahn, Majewski and Dixon. • Thomas participated by phone conference from 7:09 p.m. to 7:12 p.m.

3. President Eugene Kindall led the Pledge of Allegiance.

4. Financial Report. Joe Bryant presented the recent Financial Report. Revenues attributable to pistol. Tenants paid $450.00.

5. Shooting Report. Nothing of significance per Troy. Iosco Team prevailed in .22 Indoor Saginaw Valley Pistol League competition.

6. Minutes of January 2010 meeting. Motion to approve the minutes from the January 2010 meeting by Smith seconded by Troy. Motion passed.

7. Membership Report. Currently have 216 members. Two new members added Paul A. Larson and Robert T. Boden.

8. Old Business:
Six hundred yard range. Further improvements and construction on hold until spring.
Capital projects. On hold.
Rental house. Tenants discussed during presentation of Financial Report.
Water at Wurtsmith. Fixtures probably will not work due to age and length of non-use, but pipes should still be good. Smith obtained two estimates one for $3,400.00 from Graves and another for $4,035.00 from Webb. Both drillers propose either a 4” or 5” well 55-60 feet deep. Both estimates include new 20-gallon diaphragm tank. Neither driller would recommend use of old tanks. Smith hopes to provide good firm plan at March membership meeting with budget.
New Toilets. President Kindall obtained three estimates for new toilets for Tawas Club House. Gueldonzopf will make further inquiry with Chris DeLage regarding obtainment and installation.
A speakerphone was acquired to facilitate participation in meetings from off premises locations.
Range Officer/Committee. First meeting will be scheduled in early May to get the snowbirds involved. President Kindall will be on the committee, and Marsh, Majewski, Troy and Pilsbury have expressed interest in serving on the committee.
Advertising: Disciplines should inform Gueldonzopf of advertising that they would like to conduct regarding events, etc. and he will coordinate.
Budget Committee. Provisionally will meet on February 20, 2010. Committee members are President Kindall, Brad Saegesser, Joe Bryant, Mike Smith and Richard Dixon.
Newsletter. Looking for a new editor.

9. New Business:
Lou Rudel has calendar information for entire summer.
Tom Marsh will handle dinner for March meeting. Corned Beef, veggies and salad planned. Members are requested to bring an appetizer or dessert to pass.
The Ford Ranger Pickup at Wurtsmith needs wheels and tires that will hold air. Nothing involved needed as the vehicle is only used on our grounds. Unknown subject(s) previously relieved us of wheels and tires last fall.
President Kindall will meet with 4-H on February 11, 2010 regarding shooting sports.
Gueldonzopf discussed utilization of lighted sign on US-23, and obtaining and utilizing scoring software.
Troy indicated approximately $1,295.00 will be needed for maintenance materials and fuel for the season for Wurtsmith, including but not limited to paint, target backers, wood frames, fuel and miscellaneous items.
Troy indicated Wurtsmith is in need of a utility vehicle. President Kindall indicated he has a 1984 Honda 2 wheel drive that he will loan to the club if the club can get it operational.
Request from FDI to conduct an active shooter course was discussed. Participating law enforcement agencies would be Alpena PD, Oscoda PD and Tawas PD. As FDI is a private contractor motion by Smith, second by Moir to charge $100.00 per day plus 10% of fees.
Wurtsmith will open on March 27, 2010.
Gary Morse presented a request to utilize the Wurtsmith facility on February 22- 23, 2010 or March 20 and March 21, 2010 for a winter training camp out by the Michigan Patriots Alliance. No formal action taken at this time.
